Pressure Cleaning prices on the Central Coast

Pressure cleaning rules

What moves a quote

Height moves a quote first. SafeWork NSW records a gutter cleaner sliding down a residential roof and falling approximately 5 metres to the ground, and its advice for residential roofs is a site-specific safe work method statement where the risk of falls is 2 metres or more, with roof edge protection, or an elevated work platform or scaffold where edge protection cannot go in. A roof or gutter quote that includes that set-up is pricing it, and one that leaves it out is worth a question. Water comes second. Council's water-wise rules allow a driveway or path to be pressure cleaned only in limited circumstances, mould and moss among them, and describe the machine as one running at less than 9 litres a minute, so a provider needs the right machine and a way to keep the runoff out of the drain. Regrowth is third. The Gosford (Narara) weather station recorded a mean of 1328.3 mm of rain a year, on 92.1 days of rain a year, before it closed in 2013, so ask what a quote says about regrowth. The last is whose water the job uses. Council's 2026/27 fee schedule lists water drawn from a Council standpipe at $3.22 a kilolitre, and a 25 mm standpipe hire fee of $389.02 a year, so ask whether the quote assumes your tap.

Before you agree to a price

In New South Wales a builder or tradesperson must give you a written contract when the contract price is over $5,000 including GST, or when the price is unknown but the reasonable market cost of labour and materials is more than that, and a job over $20,000 needs a more extensive contract again. The most you can be asked for as a deposit is 10 per cent of the contract price. That page speaks of residential building work, so ask the provider which side of the line your job sits on and get the answer in writing. Door-knocking has its own rule: an agreement negotiated at your door for more than $100 is an unsolicited consumer agreement, and you have 10 business days to cancel it without penalty.
