Council's floodplain study names Woy Woy, with Blackwall, Booker Bay and Ettalong, as suburbs that are low-lying and susceptible to flooding in and around the Brisbane Water estuary. Council's estuary plan records large sediment loads coming down Woy Woy Creek into Correa Bay after wet weather. Placing polluting matter where it will reach a drain can be an offence under section 120 of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW).
