Pressure Cleaning in Blue Haven

Blue Haven's stormwater runs underground to Wallarah and Spring creeks and on into Budgewoi Lake, so what comes off a driveway here reaches the lake.

Pressure Cleaning around Blue Haven

Parts of Blue Haven are recent. The Wallarah Creek flood study noted that the area west of the Pacific Highway and south of Roper Road was still being developed when it was written, and it recorded floodwater across Allambee Crescent during the April 2015 event. On the more elevated streets, it found flooding is mostly contained to roadways and drainage reserves.

Water that runs along a street and across the bottom of a driveway leaves a silt line, and on newer concrete that line is easy to see. A driveway clean lifts it along with tyre marks and mould spotting, and a gentler wash does the same for render.

Permits and Central Coast Council rules

The Wallarah Creek study describes the catchment's urban areas as drained by a stormwater system that carries runoff below ground into Wallarah Creek or Spring Creek, and both run to Budgewoi Lake. Council records conditions at Budgewoi Lake declining despite catchment works. Wash water sent into a Blue Haven street drain travels that underground route to the creeks, and letting polluting matter reach a drain can be an offence under section 120 of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW).
